Hey there, remember me?? I'm the person who used to post here religiously. But that was before social networking ate up all my online time and I didn't need to post more than a sentence to feel like it was a job well done.
But anyway, here's what's been going on around the Rathaus lately:
- Five weeks until vacation starts. Boy am I excited, although the word Tony prefers to use is obsessed. Anyway, We head for Thailand on the wee hours of the nineteenth- all the way into the late afternoon of the 20th. Joy! It's only like 18 hours of flight (only!) but there's the international dateline to contend with. Coming back should be almost akin to time travel- or perhaps teleportation- but with all the joys of being crammed into a commercial flight.
- Because of vacation, we went to go get vaccines. Because we went to go get vaccines, we both went for physicals where we both discovered that somehow we are not twenty anymore. In response, we joined a gym. Not any gym, but uber-gym. Embarrassingly uber-gym. My brother's family should belong here, not us. Although once you get past the fru-fru it's a really amazingly awesome place. I've been overtraining there- at least that's the not-me consensus- because I've been there just about every day since we signed up. But ya know, it's really a nifty place and there's too many cool exercise options for me to stay away very long.
- We are one day away from finding out if we get to go to BlizzCon this year. As usual, I am on pins and needles waiting anxiously. I hatehatehate not being able to control whether we CAN go or not. This year it will be two weeks before PAX, which will make for a fun filled month of geekiness.
- Holly had her little girl. No word yet on her name since Baby Grow (I can't tell whether that's a proper naming protocol or merely an interogative statement) had no name as of Holly's call. I have a cute little something to send. The kid will probably get it for graduation.
Anyway, that's about it. Things have been pretty quiet except for some tax nuttiness that I could go into but the explanation would take an entire blog post. Suffice to say I've never had quite so much trouble giving money to someone before. Tony is happy and Ridiculous still and I'm just happy. The smaller mammals are all fat and happy. All in all, things are pretty good.
I sent you a 'kait' email from the baby's new hypocrisy account the other day. We're trying to organize it into an address/birthday keeper family communication center. She is officially now:
Miriam Lucia Grow (after her great grandmother)
And she'll be meeting everyone in her immediate family (except Uncle Doug and Aunt Susie) at the farm this weekend! I don't know if there is any way to torture Doug enough for failing to come with us...

I just got home sunday and received your present - its extremely cool, thank you! Especially considering that I now describe my job as a 'lactational consultant' for cows, there are a lot of great places for her to wear her new shirts. I have even more fun using the new terminology, now that it is often part of a coversation over Miriam's head while she breastfeeds. The midwives thought it was pretty cool.
Missing you. Come visit... you can afford to make two trips in one summer since my house is FREE!
On another note, you wanted better rhyming names for Doug and Susie - Doug used to go by Boris, as mentioned previously... why not just go ahead and call Susie 'Natasha'. They make a lovely Boris and Natasha.
