Welcome to the wonderful world of cold-blooded mammals. Someday, they'll name a new Phylum for me.
The picture is actually what you can see happening to my index and middle finger of my hand. I wish I had a better camara so you could really see the white. It goes sort of creepy transparant. I think that's what they euphemistically term 'blue' on the websites. Yep, that's as painful as it looks. Nope, the motorcycle didn't cause it, but being as that's my throttle front brake hand and I can only reach the brake with the last knuckle on the middle and ring finger riding doesn't help matters either. Mostly, I was screwing around taking these pictures because I didn't have the manual dexterity yet to lock up the bike.
For years, I thought this wonderful condition was caused by frostbite as the first time it appeared was from long exposure in the snow. But in these days of diagnosing anything that isn't the standard mean it's got
it's own designation and everything. I find that sort of funny and sad at the same time. But in the end, naming it doesn't do a damn thing to keep my fingers from becoming numb and painful. But I could get a lovely pamphlet about it telling me to keep warm.
