Woo Hoo!
Finally some genuine time among like-minded people.
I saw Serenity last night at the Metreon, midnight show, packed theatre (In fact, closed theater which made it even cooler, but I digress) and even some people in costume. My husband, dressed like Wash, was among the more suprising ones. Why I didn't I bring a camera?
The show would have been amazing simply because it's been so long since I've been in a movie crowd I even remotely respected. But, hey, it was Firefly, so what more could a girl ask?
Witty dialogue, snappy details and enough really big booms to satisfy even this princess.
I am so happy, I've been walking in a fog all day.
Of course, that could be because we didn't get home until 3:30 and somebody's corporate lifestyle begins at 6AM. The theatre put the second reel in backwards, which reversed the print and royally pooched the sound. Most of the crowd decided it was par for the adventure and found ways to amuse themselves and others amid the chaos. There were some catcalls and one particularly talented orater who started making up dialogue ala MST3k. The projection booth finally caught on and the film was stopped briefly for them to rethread. Everyone used the intermission to either mingle or use the facilities. Guess which I chose? Blame the omigoduber cokes they serve at the theatre.
But because of the interuption, the Metreon gave each of us a free movie pass at the end of the film.
I think I'm going to use it to rewatch Serenity.
