For years, I've been touting the only real benefits of bottled water- namely, that it's already in a container for you so you don't have to find a glass and that it's usually already cold. And I have been particularly vociferous about Aquafina because it's bottled right down the road from me at the Pepsi plant on Hesperian. I mean it. Look on the back of the bottle and you'll see it says Hayward right there. (Although perhaps not back east- I dunno about that.) Basically, the stuff that's coming out of my taps is the stuff you're paying a buck a bottle and up for.
Although the truth has been easy to find and general knowledge as far as I'm concerned, Pepsi announced it was going to relabel their bottles to reflect this. Fair enough. What is astounding is that the headlines are all over Internet news. Excuse me? Why would this be shocking news to people? News site readers be pretty literate by definition, don't you think?
Anyway, I'm amused. Yet another set of directions for toothpicks.
You knew that I'd have to reply to a blog entry with "Bwa-ha-ha!" of course? At least it isn't Cincinnati {Blartch!!!) water. You have to recall how disgusting the initial and aftertaste of that glop is, right? It hasn't gotten any better and I wonder if it were ever bottled, how one could market that stuff, eh? *shudder*

Always remember that there are more standards for tap water than for bottled water. It's a genius money making scam.
