My new employer has moved its operation to a new office building in Redwood Shores. We're close, but not quite in the shadow of Oracle's towers. The best thing I can say about the new chrome and concrete orifice is that I can spin in my chair with arms and legs extended and not smack anyone else in the head. At the old office I couldn't move my mouse without occasionally elbowing someone. More space is good. The second best thing I can say is that we share the building with Castaway Entertainment.
The worst thing I can say about the place is that it's a lifeless corporate hell, whose buildings are surely arranged to form some sort of soul stealing sigil. It also has the fewest, and poorest quality lunch spots of any place I've worked.
Oh, the other good thing is that I can see my bike in the parking lot from where I'm sitting.
A few friends used to work in Redwood Shores -- they recommend San Carlos for lunch. ;)

Hey C! Long time no, uh communicate in any way really. ;) Spuzzum.
We did manage to find a few spots, but they all involve driving. We even discovered that anyone can just waltz into any Oracle building and eat in the cafeteria. I still haven't figured that one out yet, but sure enough we did it. I kept thinking Larry Ellison was going bust in, point at us, and yell, "YOU are diminishing shareholder value!"
