This afternoon, after more than a year of neglect, the SV was wrenched upon. Steph and I lingered a bit too long in the garage admiring the Triumph's new luggage racks, when proximity finally got the better of procrastination. We didn't do much, just removed the damaged front bodywork and headlight assembly, but more importantly talked about a plan for recovery. Once the bodywork was off, we both really liked the muscular look with those thick front forks out there where you can see them. So, the current thinking is a cafe racer conversion. Leave the low bars, and install a single round headlight and simple dash. Here are a couple of pictures to mark the occasion:
Maybe we can turn it into a really, really poor man's MV Agusta Brutale.
I love the whole His/Hers effect you guys are getting with your bike work blogging.
LOVE!

You know, two things strike me about the lower picture now I see it a few days later.
First: those forks really are stunning. They're beautiful in a way I've never managed to find jewelry.
Second: (sadly) I really do hate our teal trim against the grey stonework.
